Technological Interventions for Sustainable Development Goals in Animal and Aquaculture Resource Management with respect to Changing Climatic Scenarios and One Health

We are pleased to inform you that IJAH is going to publish a Special Issue on “Technological Interventions for Sustainable Development Goals in Animal and Aquaculture Resource Management with respect to Changing Climatic Scenarios and One Health” by December, 2024.

Global demand for animal-derived foods has been projected to double by 2050 due to rising affluence and population, with a notable increase in per capita consumption especially in the developing nations. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted in 2015 with 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet with strategies that improve health and education amid judicious technologies suitable to mitigate climate change issues and to preserve our natural resources. Further, global issues in the animal food sector on the backdrop of climate change, emerging vector-borne diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and food safety added further challenges to environmental, economic, and social sustainability. Under these backdrops, the modern food system should become more efficient in resource utilization by using less land, water, and inputs to produce more food sustainably and become more resilient to changes and shocks through a holistic approach involving all the stakeholders of the One Health paradigm with fewer ecological footprints.

With this background, a special issue of the Indian Journal of Animal Health titled "Technological Interventions for Sustainable Development Goals in Animal and Aquaculture Resource Management with respect to Changing Climatic Scenarios and One Health" has been envisaged.
